Practical Test Standards ｆor AIRPLANE (Single Engine)
X. AREA OF OPERATION: EMERGENCY OPERATIONS 緊急操作
A. TASK: EMERGENCY APPROACH AND LANDING (模擬式の緊急アプローチと緊急着陸)
Objective. To determine that the applicant:
1. Exhibits knowledge of the elements related to emergency approach and landing procedures.
緊急着陸に必要な知識がある事。
2. Analyzes the situation and selects an appropriate course of action.
状況判断と適切な手段を選ぶ。
3. Establishes and maintains the recommended best-glide airspeed, ±10 knots.
Best-Glide速度の±10 knotsを守る。
4. Selects a suitable landing area.
適切な着陸場所を選ぶ
5. Plans and follows a flight pattern to the selected landing area considering altitude, wind, terrain, and obstructions.
高度、風、地形、障害物を考慮して着陸場所までのコースを選ぶ。
6. Prepares for landing, or go-around, as specified by the examiner.
試験官の指示で着陸体勢からのGo-Aroundを準備する。
7. Follows the appropriate checklist.
適切なチェックリストに従う。
B. TASK: SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTIONS システムや設備の故障
REFERENCES: FAA-H-8083-3; POH/AFM.
Objective. To determine that the applicant:
1. Exhibits knowledge of the elements related to system and equipment malfunctions appropriate to the airplane provided for the practical test.
試験に使われる飛行機のシステムや設備が故障した際の対象法などの説明
2. Analyzes the situation and takes appropriate action for simulated emergencies appropriate to the airplane provided for the practical test for at least three (3) of the following --
下記より最低３項目を選び、それらが故障した際を想定して、適切な操作や状態を説明する。
a. partial or complete power loss. 部分的か完全なエンジン出力のロス。
b. engine roughness or overheat. エンジン異常振動やオーバーヒート。
c. carburetor or induction icing. キャブレーター・アイス（気化器凍結）
d. loss of oil pressure. 油圧が無くなった場合。
e. fuel starvation. 燃料切れ
f. electrical malfunction. 電気系統の故障
g. vacuum/pressure, and associated flight instruments malfunction. バキュームの故障とそれに関する計器
h. pitot/static. ピトー/静圧
i. landing gear or flap malfunction. 着陸脚やフラップの故障
j. inoperative trim. トリムの故障
k. inadvertent door or window opening. 空中でドアや窓が開いた時
l. structural icing. 機体のアイシング
m. smoke/fire/engine compartment fire. 煙、出火、エンジンの出火。（機内では電気系統が考えられる）
n. any other emergency appropriate to the airplane. 使用飛行機に考えられる、その他の故障
3. Follows the appropriate checklist or procedure.

C. TASK: EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT AND SURVIVAL GEAR 緊急時用の装備やサバイバル用品
Objective. To determine that the applicant:
Exhibits knowledge of the elements related to emergency equipment and survival gear appropriate to the airplane and environment encountered during flight. Identifies appropriate equipment that should be aboard the airplane.
緊急時用の装備やサバイバル用品の説明や、搭載されている装備や使用状況の説明
XI. AREA OF OPERATION: NIGHT OPERATION 夜間飛行
TASK: NIGHT PREPARATION (ASEL and ASES)

Objective. To determine that the applicant exhibits knowledge of the elements related to night operations by explaining:
夜間飛行に関して、下記の事について説明する。
1. Physiological aspects of night flying as it relates to vision.
人間の夜間視野について。（夜間は人間の眼が違うのでそれの説明。）
2. Lighting systems identifying airports, runways, taxiways and obstructions, and pilot controlled lighting.
空港、滑走路、誘導路、障害物のライトについて。パイロットが操作するRunway Lightについても。
3. Airplane lighting systems.
飛行機のライト・システムについての説明。
4. Personal equipment essential for night flight.
夜間飛行に使う装備について。（眩し過ぎない懐中電灯など）
5. Night orientation, navigation, and chart reading techniques.
夜間飛行での状況判断（オリエンテーション）や夜間での航法やチャートの読み方について。
6. Safety precautions and emergencies unique to night flying.
夜間飛行に関しての安全策や緊急時の手順について。
XII. AREA OF OPERATION: POSTFLIGHT PROCEDURES
NOTE: The examiner shall select TASK A and for ASES applicants at least one other TASK.
A. TASK: AFTER LANDING, PARKING, AND SECURING 着陸後の作業
Objective. To determine that the applicant:
1. Exhibits knowledge of the elements related to after landing, parking and securing procedures.
着陸後の作業についての知識
2. Maintains directional control after touchdown while decelerating to an appropriate speed.
タッチダウン後にも方向を保ち、適切な速度まで減速する。
3. Observes runway hold lines and other surface control markings and lighting.
滑走路などにある停止線（Hold Line)やマーキング（看板）、ライトに従う。
4. Parks in an appropriate area, considering the safety of nearby persons and property.
回りに居る人間や物に気を使いながら、飛行機を駐機する。
5. Follows the appropriate procedure for engine shutdown.
適切な方法に従って、エンジンを止める。
6. Completes the appropriate checklist.
適切なチャックリストに従う。
7. Conducts an appropriate postflight inspection and secures the aircraft.
適切な飛行後の点検を行い、飛行機を停泊させる。
